Volunteering at Glen Mary Plantation
Seven GMC junior college cadets and two GMC employees recently spent their day volunteering at Glen Mary Plantation. The crew whacked weeds, cut and split hardwood, burned excess pine and performed other minor chores.
Glen Mary Plantation is owned by Preservation America Trust and is the only surviving rural High Greek Revival “raised cottage” plantation house remaining in the United States which is situated on a portion of original cotton plantation lands.
