What You Will Learn

Students will utilize accounting software such as MS Excel to construct and evaluate accounting data

Students will learn to compare economic data.

Students will formulate business communications that reflect ethics in the business environment.


About Business Administration

Program Benefits
Earning an AA or AS degree in business will prepare students for employment opportunities and meet educational requirements for continuation towards a bachelor degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or marketing. Upon completion of this degree, graduates will be able to transfer credits to a 4-year BA or BS degree program in Business Administration. Business degree majors consistently remain in the top ten careers with jobs in marketing, accounting, and finance.


Business Administration Occupational Outlook
Employment in business and financial operations occupations is projected to grow 8 percent from 2020 to 2030, about as fast as the average for all occupations, adding about 750,800 new jobs. Globalization, a growing economy, and a complex tax and regulatory environment are expected to continue to lead to strong demand for accountants and auditors. In addition, increasing usage of data and market research in order to understand customers and product demand, and to evaluate marketing strategies, will lead to growing demand for market research analysts.
This median annual wage for business and financial occupations was $72,250 in May 2020, which was higher than the median annual wage for all occupations of $41,950.
