JC women’s soccer inks 10

The Georgia Military College women’s soccer program signed 10 players recently, and head coach Diana Baruffa expects the group to contribute immediately.

“The team will have a lot more speed and control than we are used to,” Baruffa said. “We hope to really start turning the program around this year. Our new players are everything the team is missing.”

The incoming players include:
• Alex Johnson – Grovetown, Ga.: Solid, two-sport player.
• Caroline Conn – Macon, Ga.: Solid, two-sport player.
• Korie Wilson – Perry, Fla.: Tall, aggressive keeper.
• Keyara Jenkins – Midland, Ga.: Brings speed and strength to the defense.
• Anasa Lover – Powder Springs, Ga.: Can play anywhere; great speed.
• Taylor Hill – Gray, Ga.: Striker with speed.
• Samantha Bishop – Douglasville, Ga.: Aggressive goalkeeper with strong defense.
• Michelle Campbell – Atlanta, Ga.: Brings control and composure to midfield.
• Amanda Alfier – Pemberton, B.C., Canada: Solid midfielder
• Nikki Krause – Lecanto, Fla.: Can play anywhere; great attitude; team player
“These new players are very dedicated and ready to play,” said Baruffa. “I am anticipating the girls will bond quickly and learn to play well together so we can have the best season yet.”
