Georgia Military Junior College Women’s Golfer Sadie Norman Heads to the National Championship

Georgia Military Junior College Women’s Golfer Sadie Norman Heads to the National Championship

Georgia Military College Junior College Women’s Golf is making its presence known in just the fourth full year of the program. Freshman Sadie Norman is officially the 6th Bulldog to qualify for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I National Championship.

Norman has had an outstanding freshman campaign. She ended the year with an 83.50 scoring average and was ranked in the top half of all women’s junior college golfers in the country.

“We are very excited about her success,” said GMC JC Golf Coach Kirk Kayden. “She is very competitive and has a great mindset. I am confident she will bring her A game at the National Championship.”

Norman’s success comes as no surprise; she is from Moultrie, Georgia, where she attended Colquitt County High School and was part of one of the state’s top 7A girls golf programs. In her junior and senior years, she led her team to two fourth-place finishes at the GHSA State Championship while earning 6th and 12th individually. She was also vital to the South team’s win in the 2022 Georgia High School Golf Coaches Association’s North-South All-Star Match play event. Norman commented, “I am so excited for this opportunity to test my skill against the best in the country.” She is looking to become GMC’s first Women’s Golf All-American.

The NJCAA National Championship will take place at Buffalo Dunes Golf Club in Garden City, Kansas from May 9-12. For more information about GMC Athletics, visit http://www.gmcbulldogs.com/.
