Georgia Military College Will Honor Victims Of September 11

September 5, 2002 – Georgia Military College will honor and recognize those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 in the World Trade Center, the plane crash in the fields of Pennsylvania and in the Pentagon attack, on Wednesday, September 11 of this year, at 10:00 AM, on the blacktop in front of the Old Capitol. The ceremony will include comments from MG Peter J. Boylan, USA (Ret.), President of Georgia Military College, the playing of “Taps” by MAJ Les Steele, and the lowering of the flag to half-staff. Honored guests from the Fire Department, Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department and Milledgeville Police Department will be present, along with the entire student body, staff and faculty. Small American hand-held flags, donated by the Woodmen of the World Organization, will be passed out prior to the ceremony. The public is invited to attend.
