April 27-A Night at the Theater

Georgia Military College will present the first in the 2007 Steinway Concert Series, A Night at the Theater, on Friday, April 27, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in The Goldstein Center for the Performing Arts.

The season opener will be an acclaimed performance by our guests, the Florence Camerata, under the direction of conductor, Dr. Ian Loeppky, who also serves as professor of choral music at University of North Alabama. The group, composed primarily of vocal music professionals, will present “A Night at the Theater: Our Favorites from Opera, Operetta, Broadway, and the Movies.” Following the concert all will be invited to enjoy a gala outdoor reception with light jazz music provided by the Monty Cole Jazz Trio

There will be a $10 admission fee for the concert. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the GMC Office of Advancement, 431 South Jefferson Street, or at the door the evening of the performance, except in the event of a sellout, since seating is limited. For more information, call the GMC Office of Advancement at (478) 445-2692.

The mission of the Georgia Military College Steinway Society is to provide funding for the Steinway Concert Series as well as ongoing technical support for the Steinway Concert Grand in the Goldstein Center for the Performing Arts, the purchase of which has been the group’s crowning achievement.
