Seniors Honored – Basketball, Cheerleading & Color Guard
On February 19, 2010, Georgia Military College Prep School honored seniors from this year’s girl’s and boy’s basketball teams, basketball cheerleading squad, and color guard. The students were escorted by family and friends as they walked across the stage of the Goldstein Center and were congratulated by COL John Thornton, GMC Principal. Will Parker has participated in basketball, football, baseball, band, and drill team. After graduation, Will plans to attend GMC Junior College and he is undecided on a major. Porsche Freeman has been statistician for basketball and she has also participated in Color Guard, and chorus. After graduation she plans to attend Medical College of GA and major in pre-medicine. Elizabeth Craig has participated in basketball, track, and band while at GMC. She plans to attend Ole Miss and she is undecided on her major. Lauryn Dennard has participated in basketball, softball, and is a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society. After graduation she plans to attend Armstrong Atlantic State University and major in education. Kaylee Fuller has been basketball cheerleader and a member of the softball team. After graduation she plans to attend GMC Junior College and eventually major in physical therapy. Sara Gray has been a basketball cheerleader and served as captain this year, she was the football mascot, and is the editor of the yearbook staff. After graduation she plans to attend the Georgia Southern and major in nursing. Tanisha Johnson is a member of the basketball cheerleading squad, the chorus, the literary team, the flag corps, and the Spanish Honor Society. She will also participate in the spring musical. After graduation, Tanisha plans on attending Savannah College of Art and Design to major in fashion design and music. Macy Knowles has been a basketball cheerleader and a member of the tennis team. After graduation she plans to attend Augusta State University and major in biology. Destiny Smith has been a basketball cheerleader, a member of the flag corps, the color guard, and has participated in school plays. After graduation she plans on attending Georgia State University and majoring in biology. Chris Edwards has been a member of color guard and the football team. He is undecided about where he would like to attend college and is undecided on a major. Jessica Jenkins has been a member of color guard and the flag corps, and has participated in the school musical. After graduation she plans to attend the Georgia College and State University and major in law. Kayla Tucker has been a member of color guard and the chorus. After graduation she plans to attend Macon State and major in biology.
