Prep to honor memory of Jill Stewart on Oct 3
On Wednesday, October 3, at 2:45 p.m., Georgia Military College will rededicate a monument and tree in memory of Jill Stewart. Jill was a student at GMC Prep who made a huge impact on the lives of many before being tragically killed in an automobile accident in 1996. A tree and monument in her memory currently reside behind Jenkins Hall but GMC Principal COL John Thornton said he felt it would be better suited for placement in front of Usery Hall (Grant Parade side). Jill’s parents, Randy and Susan Stewart, will be on hand to honor the memory of their daughter. Anyone who remembers Jill or knows the family is invited to be a part of this ceremony.
