Prep Rifle Team Wins First Match

Georgia Military Prep Rifle Team Wins First Match Last evening Jenna Bethea led the Bulldog Prep Rifle Team to a victory over Evans High School in Augusta, Georgia. She shot an outstanding 99 prone, 89 standing and 94 kneeling for a total score of 282. Marissa Langston, Team Captain, also shot an outstanding prone score of 99, 87 standing and 94 kneeling for a total of 280. Cameron Lowe had a 94 prone, 87 standing and 95 kneeling for a total score of 277. Kris Irvin shot 95 prone, 87 standing and 94 kneeling for a total of 276. The team score was 1115 to Evans High School of 1041. We always take an alternate shooter to the matches and sometimes there is room for the shooter to compete and sometimes there is not room on a range. The alternate shooter’s score does not count for the total team score, as the four man team is announced before the match starts. Last night Analese Bridges joined the team to travel to Augusta. We are so proud of her competing in her first GHSA match and boy can she shoot! She had a 87 prone, 93 standing and 84 kneeling for a total score of 274. What an exciting event for our first match! Congratulations to these fine cadets. Go Bulldogs! GMCwill host Baldwin High School on January 22, 2013, at 4p.m. The match is open to the public.
