Michael Roberson Leads the Bulldog Rifle Team at the Citadel

A total of forty five shooters competed in SEARC #3 this past weekend in Charleston, South Carolina. The Citadel took top honors with a score of 2287 followed by North Georgia College and State University with a 2279. Other college teams participating in the Southeastern Air Rifle Conference were Wofford with a 2240, Clemson 2238, University Alabama Birmingham 2203 and Georgia Military College with a 2144. Setting another personal best score for GMC, Michael Roberson shot scores of 89, 97, and 92,89,95,94 for an outstanding score of 556. Markesan Burton had scores of 85, 88, and 90,89,86,95 for a total of 533. Cole Lassetter scored 86, 94, 90,82,86,92 for a total of 530. Reggie Kendrick was fourth man on the team, in his first year of competition, with scores of 90, 85, and 93,87,85,85 for a total of 525. The goal of each shooter this year is to shoot the highest standing scores and to date Michael Roberson has the lead with a previous score of 98. A perfect score would be 100. Other GMC shooters were James Squires with an outstanding 90 standing and a total score of 503. Michael Bradley (CGPC), who has been a member of the rifle team for two months, shot a 495; Howard Lane a 473 and Cameron Smith, another newcomer to the sport of shooting, shot a 467. The rifle teams will meet December 1, 2012 in Spartanburg, South Carolina at Wofford for SEARC #4.
