JUCO Football Bounces Back

GMC bounced back on a slightly soggy Saturday, defeating visiting Arkansas Baptist 41-6. GMC (2-2) found its stride on offense early and often, with the first play from scrimmage going for a 70 yd TD on a play action pass from Chris Hart to Chris Thomas. The offense continued to pour it on the visiting Buffalos with 4 more scoring drives in the first half. Running backs Tobias Palmer, Quadrez Reese and Daequones Spence each notched a rushing TD on the day and freshman QB Tony Guidugli earned his first passing TD which capped off a two minute offensive drive in the first half.

Defensively, the Bulldogs finally hit stride and nearly notched a shutout on the day. The Bulldogs bent little and only broke the one time, but that was after an errant punt snap put the Bulldogs back against the wall and also after an inadvertent whistle took away what should have been an interception for GMC. Sophomore Dan Wylie led the way on the front line creating havoc in the Buffalo backfield all day and freshman Dale Peterman had two INTs with exciting returns to improve the Bulldog field position.

The Bulldogs are home again next week with visiting NC Tech taking on the Bulldogs on Davenport Field at 1pm.
