Hastings to Compete in National Dance Event

GMC Prep School Freshman Shelly Hastings recently competed in the Dance America Regional Competition in Atlanta, Ga. Shelly won the top trophy in Intermediate Solo Lyrical Dance, as well as the Best Emotional Execution Award. She was also chosen as a Junior Dancer of the Year Semi-Finalist. As a result of her outstanding performance at the regional meet she has been invited to compete in the Dance America National Finals in July, 2008, to be held in Orlando, Fl.

Shelly has been taking dance lessons at Studio One School of Dance for 10 years. She was recently promoted to the Seniors A Performance Company and is the youngest dancer to be promoted to this highest level. She is the daughter of William and Shirly Hastings of Milledgeville.
