GMC WINS SEASON OPENER 48-12

GMC Opened the 2012 season with a decisive 48-12 victory over Chattahoochee Tech on Davenport Field. Freshman quarterback Clay Chastain had a strong opening performance, going 11 of 18 for 194 yards and 4 touchdowns. He spread the wealth to four different receivers on the night, with Kevin Gary, Terome Grant, Montez McGuire, and Drez Warthen each catching a scoring strike. Freshman QB Ky Tyler also was impressive in the opening win, going 5 of 6 passing and rushing for a touchdown of his own on the night. Defensively, the Bulldogs handled visiting Chattahoochee Tech fairly well and created 5 turnovers on the night. Tiquention Coleman had a big night with 3 INTs, returning one for a touchdown. He also had 2 pass breakups and several tackles on the night. Freshman Davonte Lambert, Octavious Brown, and Dre Finley all had big nights as well on the defensive side. Freshman kicker Chris Bell had 2 field goals and was perfect on PATs, going 6 for 6 on the night. GMC will return to action September 8 on Davenport Field in Milledgeville against visiting Snow College of Utah.
