GMC Valdosta honored as business partner of the year

GMC Valdosta was recognized at the Community Partners in Education Award Banquet for their commitment to the students of Southeast and Dewar Elementary schools. The Valdosta campus has a very active Student Service League club who organizes projects such as the school supply drives as well as other activities to support GMC’s commitment to their community partners. GMC Valdosta was voted the “2010-2011 Large Business Partner of the Year” for their work with Southeast Elementary school. The coordinator for the Dewar Elementary program had these kind words to say about GMC, “The plethora of school supplies GMC donated to DES put sparkles in the teachers’ eyes. Before the teachers had time to ponder the thought of not having enough school classroom supplies for their students, Donna Brzezienski and GMC students inundated Dewar with huge boxes of school supplies. Almost every item that was placed on DES supply list was graciously donated by GMC.” In response to the article, Ms. Leslie Hafer, Director of GMC Valdosta, commended the efforts of the Student Service League, Ms. Donna Brzezienski (faculty advisor), and the students of GMC for their generosity and commitment to helping young people. Ms. Hafer stated, “The donations from the GMC campus family and the hard work of the Student Service League will make a difference in supporting the educational needs of these students.”
