GMC Prep School’s Literary Team wins region competition

(GMC Prep School’s Literary Team are the 2017 region champions.) 

GMC Prep School’s 2017 Literary Team wins the region title for a record six years in a row. On Thursday, March 2, GMC hosted the region competition at the First Presbyterian Church of Milledgeville. GMC beat out five schools with a total of 66 points. GMC’s literary team members placed in numerous categories:

Rhetorical Essay – Tyler Gray (Champion)
Personal Essay – Lindsey Knowles (Champion)
Oral Interpretation Dramatic – Sarah Wilson (Champion)
Oral Interpretation Duo – Max Hopkins and Andy Watkins (Champion)
Boys Solo – Wyatt Spivey (Champion)
Boys Quartet – Wyatt Spivey, Nick Weldon, Jim Rowell, Max Hopkins (Champion)
Girls Trio – Sydney Craft, Rylee Craft, Madison Sloan (Runner Up)
Oral Interpretation Humorous – Nick Weldon (Runner Up)
Argumentative Essay – Jack Watkins (Runner Up)
Girls Solo – Reagan Thornton (3rd Place)
Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking – Chase Sheffield (3rd Place)
International Extemporaneous Speaking – Will Caldwell (3rd Place)

The region champions in each individual event will move on to compete in the state championship at GMC’s Milledgeville Campus on March 18, 2017.
