GMC Phi Beta Lambda Chapter Awards

The GMC Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) Chapter travelled to Tifton, Georgia to compete against over 130 students from about twenty colleges at the Georgia-PBL South District Meeting on February 19, 2016.  It was the chapter’s first time attending a district meeting and first time participating in the PBL competitive events.  GMC had the second largest delegation of students at the event with 10 participants.  There were fifty-one total competitive events ongoing throughout the day.  Students pre-registered for specific events they selected prior to attending.  The competitive events included performance events and objective test events, both of which focused on business and computer topics.  The performance events required team or individual participants to present on a pre-determined topic, a topic of their choice, or perform based upon an impromptu scenario.   For the objective test events, students were given one hour to complete a 100 question test on a specific topic. Participants achieving a first thru fifth place performance were recognized during the closing awards ceremony.

The GMC PBL students performed at an outstanding level for their first competition.  The students demonstrated enthusiasm and support for each other throughout the event.  The following students were recognized for their achievements in the competitive events:

All participants plan to compete at the Georgia PBL State Conference in Atlanta, Georgia April 8-10, 2016.  First and second place winners at the state conference will advance to the National PBL Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.
