In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, we know many students are facing tough challenges. Georgia Military College is here for you, and we are doing everything we can to ensure no one is left behind. We have plans to provide extensions and support for those affected with the goal of completing the term. Your safety and well-being are our top priorities, and we’ll be flexible and supportive as we move forward. As Quarter 1 ends, we remain committed to your success, so please check here regularly for updates as we monitor recovery efforts. For those who cannot make it to campus, GMC will make every effort to work with you individually. Additionally, we are closely monitoring the development and potential impact of Hurricane Milton. At this time, the storm’s path is being tracked carefully, and there is no immediate cause for alarm in our area. However, we want to ensure that you are prepared and informed in case the situation changes. Your safety is our top priority, and we will communicate any necessary actions promptly on our website, through email, text, and social media as necessary. Learn More

GMC Old Capital Triathlon returns May 24

Greetings GMC Students and Employees!

The Georgia Military College Old Capital Triathlon is returning to Milledgeville for it's 5th annual series May 24, 2015 (the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend)!!!!!!

YOU CAN BE A PART OF THIS RACE AS THE FOLLOWING:

*An individual participant
*A participant in a relay team
*A volunteer

There is a way that you can be a part of this awesome fund raising event! All proceeds go directly to scholarships for students that need financial assistance to attend GMC!

ABOUT THE RACE:
Where: Legacy at Sinclair/Milledgeville Country Club
When: May 24, 2015 gun goes off at 7am
Why: To raise money for awesome students
How: Register at www.oldcapitalsprint.com to participate or email me back to volunteer!! (Email me for the information about registration. GMC will cover your registration, but you have to email me for the code so I can cross check those registrants as employees or students.) GMC will cover registration costs, but unfortunately we cannot cover the $12 insurance cost. There is a one day insurance fee required by USAT (USA Triathlon) that cannot be waived. So this will cost each participant $12 to participate….but not the entire registration fee.

A triathlon by nature is a multisport….it's more than one sport at one time! SWIM, BIKE, RUN. This is a SPRINT Triathlon, which means it is a shorter distance triathlon than a "full triathlon." The GMC Old Capital Triathlon is comprised of a 500 yard swim, 14+ mile bike, and a 5K run.

You can sign up to do all three events by yourself, or you can sign up as a relay. Relays can be two or three people. If you are a two man team, one person will do two events, while the other person will only do one.

Awards are given out for: M/F Overall Winners, Age Group, Weight Class (Clydesdale for Men and Athena for Women) and Novice, which means you have done less than 3 Triathlons EVER.

The SWAG at the GMC Old Capital Triathlon is awesome. Just for registering, you get a LONG SLEEVE TECH TOP, a finishers medal, and attendance at the most delicious BBQ post party.

We have amazing sponsors that have kick started the student scholarships and we as employees and students get to enjoy what is always a terrific time in fellowship and health!

Register soon or contact me to volunteer, VOLUNTEERS GET FREE T-SHIRTS TOO!!!
