GMC High School Students to Compete in State History Day Competition

Four Georgia Military College high school students recently won the 2003 National History Day Competition held at Georgia College & State University, March 21 and 22, 2003. Haley Rogers, a senior, was the first place winner in the individual essay contest for the senior division. She is the daughter of Chuck and Patti Rogers of Milledgeville. Ninth graders, Katherine Brooks, Abbie Wood and Lauren Lyautey placed first in the group presentation category for the senior division. Katherine is the daughter of Peter Levendis and Penelope Brooks, Abbie is the daughter of Vernon and Debbie Wood, and Lauren is the daughter of Henry and Cheryl Lyautey, all of Milledgeville. These ladies will compete in the state finals to be held at Macon State College on Saturday, April 26, 2003.
