GMC Gets Big Win over #6 Nassau 45-22

GMC continued it march through the 2013 season taking on its fourth top ten opponent in #6 Nassau CC and coming away with a commanding 45-22 victory. GMC controlled the first half on both sides of the ball, making long drives in their first two possessions to take a 14-0 lead b the start of the second quarter. GMC expanded the lead to 21-0 with only a few minutes remaining in the half, but Nassau took advantage of pass interference on third and long and a long run to punch in their first score of the game with a little over a minute remaining in the half. GMC responded with a nice two-minute offense drive that ended with a field goal and a 24-7 lead at the half. GMC came out slightly flat offensively after the GMC defense gave the Dogs a short field. Two back to back penalties forced the Dogs to punt and Nassau blocked the kick to set up a very short field drive for their second score. GMC responded with a TD drive of their own, mainly on the backs of the offensive line and the legs of Jovon Robinson, as the score moved to 31-14 at the end of the third quarter. GMC added two more scores to Nassau’s one to reach the final score of 45-22. The nations leading rusher and scorer, Jovon Robinson, added to his numbers by rushing for over 250 yard sand netting 4 TDs on the day. GMC improved its record to 8-0 on the season with the win.
