GMC College Rifle Participates in the 5th International University Air Rifle Match
After final preparations for the inaugural parade were complete; Georgia Military College Rifle Team took to the rifle range to don their rifles, scopes and rifle suits to compete in a postal match. And this was no ordinary match! It was a match that pitted the Bulldog College Rifle Team against international competition from Switzerland. Those three teams hailed from the University of Bern, the University of Fribourg and ETH Zurich. The other teams that shot in their postal matches were teams from across the United States. Teams which included Clemson University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, New Albany Indiana High School, The Citadel, University of Alaska Fairbanks, University of Mississippi and West Virginia University. All scores are due in Switzerland by November 30, 2013. Georgia Military College was represented in this match by two teams. The following shooters shot for the ROTC Team. They were Luke Torres, Co-Captain Ariel Vasquez, Richard Tyler Willingham and Alex Bueler. The second GMC team was represented by Captain Cameron Smith, Robin Rochester, Cameron Schneberger and Howard Lane. The teams are coached by LTC Duane Clayton and Mary Ellen Eaton. Results will be released in mid-December.
