Former GMC Softball Star Fighting on the Frontlines of COVID-19

On May 21, 2020, former Georgia Military College (GMC) Softball star, Kirsten Albright, took part in the NJCAA Forward Webinar Series. The May 21st webinar focused on former NJCAA Athletes who are dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic on the frontlines.

Albright is a 2016 Graduate of GMC and was an All-Region Selection for the Bulldogs. She helped lead the Bulldogs to their first-ever National Championship appearance. Currently, she’s an ER nurse at University of Alabama Birmingham. She is also a clinical instructor in the Bevill Community College nursing program. She is one of the many heroes across the United States working on the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The NJCAA Forward Webinar Series kicked off in March as an effort to “find a way to create a new normal, a new opportunity to flourish. It is “a unified social media endeavor that seeks to showcase how two-year colleges are progressing through this uncertain time period of our lives.”

Below is the link to the webinar. You can see Albright’s contribution at the 26:45 mark.
