GMC to host annual Peace Officer’s Memorial Day ceremony

Georgia Military College to Host Annual Peace Officer’s Memorial Day Ceremony

On Friday, May 15, 2020, Georgia Military College (GMC) will show appreciation for Law Enforcement Officers and First Responders, and honor those who have given the greatest sacrifice in service. This event supports GMC’s educational mission of teaching duty, honor, and country to its students.

At 8:30 a.m. Friday morning, President of GMC, Lieutenant William B. Caldwell, IV, will be joined by local law enforcement leaders to lay a wreath in honor of those in Milledgeville and Baldwin County who have passed away in the line of duty. Names of those individuals will be read, and a wreath will be laid on Grant Parade Field.

This event will be livestreamed on Georgia Military College Prep School’s Facebook page, so that the community can participate in the ceremony, without actually being on campus. All parties involved will practice social distancing to maintain a safe environment, while honoring fallen law enforcement officials.
