U.S. Congressman Mike Collins Visits Georgia Military College to Celebrate Cadet Appointment to U.S. Air Force Academy
Georgia Military College (GMC) was honored to welcome U.S. Congressman Mike Collins, representing Georgia’s 10th Congressional District, to its Main Campus in Milledgeville for a special Appointment Signing Ceremony. Congressman Collins, who proudly nominated Cadet Mason Honea for the U.S. Air Force Academy, presented him with a Congressional Certificate—marking the culmination of their journey together and celebrating Mason’s official appointment to the Academy.
Congressman Collins personally recognized GMC Cadet Mason Honea, a Falcon Foundation Scholar from Greensboro, Georgia, for receiving his appointment to the United States Air Force Academy. His visit highlighted the importance of celebrating and supporting students who choose the path of military service and academic excellence.
Cadet Honea’s appointment is the finale of his year as a Falcon Foundation Scholar at GMC, where he has demonstrated exceptional dedication both academically and physically. The Falcon Foundation partners with GMC to help scholarship recipients minimize the cost of their preparatory year while they strengthen their candidacy for the U.S. Air Force Academy.
Georgia Military College is proud to serve as a certified preparatory school for the United States Military Academy (USMA), the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA), the United States Naval Academy (USNA), and the United States Coast Guard Academy (USCGA).
“We are incredibly proud of Cadet Honea,” said Lieutenant General William B. Caldwell, IV, President of Georgia Military College. “His accomplishment reflects the strength of our partnership with the service academies and our mission to develop educated leaders of character.”
