Theus Wins State Literary Meet

GMC Prep School junior Kenzie Theus earned first place honors at the 2009 Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Class A State Literary Meet. The competition was held March 21 at Northside High School in Warner Robins. Kenzie won the Girls Dramatic Interpretation competition, which involves the communication of prose, poetry, and/or dramatic literature. The selection may be either serious or humorous, and competitors are judged on how well the author’s meaning is communicated to the audience. GMC Literary Coach, MAJ Amy Lee, said, “The competition was tough but it was no match for Kenzie’s talent. This is no small feat and she deserves a big ‘congratulations!’”
