The Honorable Beth Camp Appointed to Georgia Military College Board of Trustees
Georgia Military College (GMC) proudly announces that the Honorable Beth Camp (Junior College Class of ‘99) has been appointed by Georgia Speaker of the House Jon Burns to serve on the Georgia Military College Board of Trustees as an Advisory Member.
“I am honored to be named to the Georgia Military College Board of Trustees and to support its mission of providing educational opportunities that shape future leaders,” said Camp. “I am forever grateful for my experience as a GMC student. GMC’s commitment to character, service, and academic excellence is truly inspiring, and I look forward to working alongside my fellow board members to advance initiatives that benefit our students, faculty, and community.”
Camp serves in the House of the Georgia General Assembly, representing District 135. She brings extensive experience serving the State of Georgia in various capacities. Currently, she serves as Chair of the Intragovernmental Coordination Committee and holds positions on multiple legislative committees. Her deep understanding of policy, combined with her firsthand experience as a GMC student, will make her an invaluable addition to the Board.
Representative Camp has maintained a strong connection with GMC over the years. She has been a dedicated and visible presence on campus, serving as the Mother’s Day Parade Speaker on May 2021, attending Military Heritage Weekend in April 2023, and delivering GMC Online Commencement Address in June 2024. Most recently in October 2024, GMC recognized her contributions by presenting her with the GMC Alumni Achievement Award.
As a public servant, Representative Camp represents portions of Lamar and Spalding counties and all of Pike County. Her career began in public safety as a 911 dispatcher and emergency medical technician, which ignited her passion for social sciences and volunteerism. She holds an Associate of Science degree from Georgia Military College, a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Studies with a concentration in psychology from Clayton State University, and a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Alabama.
Beyond public service, Camp is a successful entrepreneur, serving as the owner and managing real estate broker of Camp & Associates, LLC, and co-owner of The Concord Café, Inc. She is also actively involved in numerous civic and professional organizations, including the Heart of Georgia Board of Realtors, CASA Advo-Kids, Pike County FFA Alumni Board, and several chambers of commerce.
Georgia Military College is honored to welcome Chairman Camp to the Board of Trustees and looks forward to her leadership and contributions in this new role!
