Spring Art Exhibit Featuring William Raymond Hastings

(Milledgeville, GA) April 19, 2004 – A Spring Art Exhibit featuring the work of William Raymond Hastings will be held in the Sibley-Cone Library through May 17th.

William “Ray” Hastings is an Associate Professor of Art at Georgia Military College where he has taught since 1991. Upon coming to Georgia Military College, Mr. Hastings saw the potential for an undeveloped program in art. He wrote course descriptions for new courses in two-dimensional design, drawing and painting and encouraged the administration to add the courses to the curriculum. Mr. Hastings has expanded the art program to include three-dimensional art and digital imaging as well as the design, painting and drawing courses.

Mr. Hastings holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Kansas State College in Pittsburg, Kansas. He has presented one-man art shows at Wesleyan College, Spelman College, The Georgia Institute of Technology, Kansas State College, Albion College and Concordia College. His works hang in the offices of Standard Oil in Dallas, Texas, The Xerox Corporate Office in Dallas, The Interglobal Engineering Placement Center in New York, and the Hilton Inn of Wichita, Kansas.
