Southeastern Air Rifle Competition (SEARC) #6

The National Rifle Association Intercollegiate Sectional and NCAA Qualifier was hosted this past weekend at The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. The match was represented by shooters in the Southeastern Air Rifle Conference from Clemson University, The Citadel Men and Women’s Team, Mercer University, North Carolina State University, North Georgia College and State University, Wofford, Georgia Military College and shooters from Columbus State, UNC Chapel Hill. NCSU’s team placed first with a score of 2278 to The Citadel’s 2271. Tori Kostecki from NGCSU was top shooter with a score of 580. Georgia Military College was represented by Daniel Elling, Iesha Pettway, Joseph Henao and Arielle Vann with a combined score of 1882. Arielle Vann, who hails from Oklahoma, began her shooting career at Georgia Military College a few months ago. At the intercollegiate match she shot a personal best of 544. Her previous standing (offhand) record was 90 out of a perfect score of 100. She returned to Milledgeville with the accomplishments of shooting 92-89-89-89-91-94, setting a college record and excitement with her team. The final match of the year will be at CMP South in Alabama the weekend of Feb. 19th and hosted by Clemson University.
