GMC Rifle Team to compete at state
By Christina White – The Union-Recorder

The Georgia Military College High School Rifle Team will go to a state competition at Fort Benning on April 9, making it the first time the group has gone to that level of competition in three years.

It\’s also the first time that GMC\’s rifle team has been all female. They practice every day of the week after school.

Seniors Noel Keck and Emily Hollomon, sophomore Chelsea Beriault and freshman Erica Ethridge will go to Ft. Benning on April 9 to demonstrate their gunmanship.

\”It takes all year long to get kids up to this level. It (takes) very fine motor skills and concentration skills. It\’s just not something that you can jump into. It takes a lot of preparation and a lot of hard work,\” said Sgt. Ron Crawford, coach of the rifle team.
