Prep wins GHSA Literary State Championship – second year straight

The GMC Prep School Literary Team competed in the GHSA Literary State Championship at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia on March 12th. After a long day of competition the team won the State Championship Title for a second year in a row. 

In addition to the Team Championship our students brought home two individual event state titles.

Audrey Harris won the state championship for her Rhetorical Essay and Wyatt Spivey, Max Hopkins, Nick Weldon, and jim Rowell won for Boys Quartet.  Our other team members competed well and each event added points to the team total.

• Audrey Harris – State Champion Rhetorical Essay
• Wyatt Spivey, Max Hopkins, Jim Rowell, and Nick Weldon – State Champions Boys Quartet
• Wyatt Spivey – State Runner Up in Boys Solo
• Reagan Thornton – State Runner Up in Girls Solo
• Sarai Mapp and Dean Kellever – State Runner up in Duo Interpretation (Acting)
• Nick Weldon – 3rd Place in Dramatic Interpretation
• Annaleah Phillips, Hannah Rice and Lyssa Blair – 3rd Place in Girls Trio

Please congratulate this amazing students for a job well done.  They represented their school and community well!
