Prep Rifle Team Advances to Army JROTC Service Championship

The GMC Prep Rifle Team has qualified to shoot in the Army JROTC Service Championship Match which will be held at the Civilian Marksmanship Training Center in Anniston, AL from 9-12 Feb. GMC achieved this distinction by tying for first place among all participating Army JROTC high schools from Florida and Georgia during the recent JROTC Postal Match. The Prep School team scored 1128 and tied the Sarasota Military Academy in Florida. Overall, GMC tied for fourth place among 50 school nationwide that shot in the Postal Match. The team also finished second among all GA schools that participated from all JROTC branches (Army, Navy, Air Force, USMC). The top shooters for GMC were Caroline Hooks, Jacob Smith, Marrissa Langston, Cameron Lowe, and Jenna Bethea. The top score for a first year shooter was Andrew Kirkland with an impressive score of 265. Hooks, Lowe, Bethea, Smith and Langston will represent GMC in Anniston.
