Old Capital Guard Military Ball
On May 17, 2014 the Military Science Department “Old Capital Guard Battalion” held its annual military ball and award ceremony. The military ball commenced with a receiving line that included: Colonel (Ret.) Fred Van Horn; Lieutenant Colonel James Lopez; Major Latorris Williams; Master Sergeant Roy Clark; Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Castiglione; and Cadet Command Sergeant Major Joseph Matteoni. Other distinguished guest included: Major General (Ret.) Peter J. Boylan and Mrs. Leslie Lash and Mr. and Mrs. Linton McKnight. The master of ceremony for the military ball was Cadet Joshua Hall and the guest speaker was Colonel (Ret.) Fred Van Horn. Nineteen cadets received prestigious awards to include the first annual “Peter J. Boylan Award” presented by Major General Boylan to Cadet Robert Koontz. Ms. Leslie Lash was awarded the Military Science Department “Honorary Cadre Award” for her dedicated support of the Military Science Department and the Cadets of the “Old Capital Guard Battalion.”
