Odyssey of The Mind Team Building
Thirteen students from GMC Prep School’s Odyssey of the Mind program participated in their annual Challenge Course at GCSU Outdoor Education Center at Lake Laurel. The morning was spent doing low-ropes activities to build communication, trust, and respect. After lunch, the students split by teams to do the high ropes challenges. The middle school team had to work in pairs to tackle the X-ladder, King’s Swing, and Giant’s Ladder while the high school team traversed the Cat Walk, Burma Bridge, and other individual challenges on the static course. The grand finale was jumping off the 40 foot platform and sliding down the Zip Line. Middle School Team: 7th graders Reagan Thornton, Lauren Lewis; 8th graders Meia Warren, Emma Shomaker, Audrey Harris, Peyton Mims. High School Team: 9th graders Liam Fairbrass and Taylore Brooks; 11th graders Elliot Fairbrass, Jostin Grimes, Sarah Poole, Kris Irvin, and Haley Spires.
