New Career Home Run Record Set in JC Softball

The Bulldogs (19-19) on Saturday traveled to Darton State College for the first conference games of the season.  It was a big day for Taylor Little as she set the mark for the most home runs in a career by pounding out two to take her total to 16 for her career here at GMC with plenty of games left to extend the record.

In Game One, the Bulldogs fell to Darton State College 3-0 at Albany, Ga. As the offense struggled to get much going and resulted in zero runs for the Bulldogs. Darton State College never looked back after scoring three runs in the third inning when it scored on a two-run double by Lester and an RBI single by Turner.

Game Two was a different story however, as an impressive effort by Taylor Little hoisted the Bulldogs to a 15-3 win in six innings over Darton State College.

Taylor Little rocked Darton State College with two home runs, as she set the record for the most home runs in a career here at GMC with 16. She went 2-5 in the game with three RBIs and three runs scored by homering in the fourth and sixth innings.

Everything was working at the plate for the Bulldogs in the sixth. In the inning the Bulldogs scored eight runs on an RBI single by Danielle Downs, an RBI single by Kiley Rediger, a three-run home run by Jordan Crews, a fielder's choice, and a two-run home run by Taylor Little.

The Bulldogs hit four home runs in the win. Additional home runs for the Bulldogs came when Caitlin Collins homered in the third inning to go along with Jordan Crews homer and Taylor Little’s two home runs.
