JUCO Prevails

In an extremely hard fought game, #20 GMC prevailed 17-14 against visiting
#13 Kilgore College at Davenport Field in Milledgeville, GA. Freshman
kicker Bobby Jaworski connected on a field goal in the third quarter to
break a 14-14 deadlock for the margin of victory.

punter\’s head to give Kilgore the ball inside GMC\’s 20 yard line. Kilgore
scored several plays later, and was the recipient of another GMC miscue on
the ensuing kick-off, when Rick Hill fumbled the return, giving Kilgore the
ball again in GMC\’s backyard. # plays later, Kilgore had the lead 14-0.

GMC responded however, when freshman transfer Josh Johnson intercepted an
errant Kilgore pass and returned it for GMC\’s first score. Several
possesions later, Sophomore Ferlando Williams connected a pass to Octavious
Everrett to cap off a 50 yard drive to knot the score at 14-14. A narrow
miss of a 47 yard field goal at the half by Jaworski kept the score tied at
intermission.

GMC\’s defense took over in the second half as GMC held on to win 17-14. GMC
