JUCO lost in OT

Georgia Military College lost in overtime to Navarro College 17-14 in a game
that was punctuated by tough hard hitting defense and big plays on offense.

The first half was a back and forth battle, with both teams getitng into
scoring position but failing to capitalize. The score was knotted 0-0 at
the half.

Navarro hit the scoreboard first with a solid drive early in the third
quarter to go up 7-0, but their lead was soon erased when the GMC defense
caused a fumble deep in Navarro territory. Sophomore Ricky Hill punched the
ball in for GMC to tie the score 7-7. The defenses took over again until
Navarro connected on a 60 yard pass to go ahead 14-7. With less than 2
minutes to go in the game, GMC went to the 2 minute offense. On 4 & 5,
Ferlando Williams connected with Ricky Hill for a 70 yard catch and run to
tie the score at 14-14.

GMC went first in overtime, but could not score as a short field goal by
Bobby Jaworski hooked wide left. THe GMC defense took the field and bent
quickly, but then pushed the Navarro Bulldogs back for a field goal try of
their own. THey connected for the win against GMC 17-14.

GMC takes on #8 Snow College in Ephraim, UT this Saturday at 1:30 mountain
time.
