JROTC Camp Recognition

Georgia Military College Prep School recently recognized 32 cadets for attending camps over the summer during a special ceremony in the Goldstein Center for the Performing Arts. Most of the awardees attended JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge, a one week JROTC camp at Fort Gordon, GA. The cadets improved their leadership skills by serving various leadership positions during the week. The cadets learned to navigate through various terrains, rappelled from a sixty foot tower, participated in drown-proof training, completed a vigorous obstacle course, and were able experience what ‘real military training’ was like. Five cadets on the GMC Prep Rifle Team also attended Civilian Marksmanship Program Training Center which is located in Anniston, AL. The cadets improved their shooting technique with expert instruction and shot competition matches each day for practice. Each student honored was given a medal of achievement and a ribbon which can be worn on his or her uniform. GMC is very proud of its outstanding cadets that truly represented the motto “Duty, Honor, Country.” Those attended the Junior Cadet Leadership Camp-Ft Gordon, GA were: Brooke Waddell Kelly Riner Juliana Grant Kristen Zweizig Hali Minter Kenly Jones Megan Smith Haylee Chambers Janelle Clarke Jenny Brown Jasmyn Fuller Tori Spivey Hanna Azimi Krista Lanzilotta Brittany McCleskey Scott Gorham Trent Franks Wesley Zant Jostin Grimes Tyler Pennington Seth Lowery Elliot Fairbrass Aaron Brown Zoe Lumpkin Rem Tolentino Rob Grimes Those who attended the Civilian Marksmanship Program Training Center-Anniston, AL were: Caroline Hooks Jacob Smith Michael Waddell TJ Curtis John Bethea View photos of JROTC Camp and the Recognition Ceremony here: https://gmcpr.smugmug.com/2010-2011-School-Year-5/JROTC-Camp-Recognition-091610/14097646_PWFvx
