JCFB defeats VSU JV 35-20

The Junior College Football team traveled south to play the Valdosta State JV Blazers and returned with a 35-20 win to improve the season record to 3-2. The Bulldogs jumped up quickly, moving to a 21-0 lead by the end of the first quarter, mainly on the arm of freshman QB Anthony Riggin and two touchdown receptions by Corey Washington. An untimely turnover by the Bulldogs and a resurgent VSU offense narrowed the lead to 28-10 at the half. While the Bulldog Offense stalled in the second half, the defense responded very well, stifling the VSU offense and creating several turnovers on the way to achieving the 35-20 win. The Bulldogs next see action here at home Saturday, October 8, against Grand Rapids Community College. Game time will be 1pm on Davenport Field.
