GMC JC football team to face Navarro in home opener Sept. 3 Includes consecutive road trips to Snow College (Utah) and Hargrave Military Academy (Va.) Brent Martin The Union-Recorder The Union-Recorder Sat Jun 18, 2011, 08:00 AM EDT MILLEDGEVILLE — College football is always hot in Baldwin County and what better way to experience the fun in 2011 than to watch a surefire team on the rise — the GMC JC Bulldogs. The Bulldogs will be in the national hunt once again this season and will open with a ranked opponent that many fans won’t want to miss. On Sept. 3, the Bulldogs open up their season at home with consistently ranked Navarro College for a 1 p.m. kickoff. The following week won’t be any easier as the Bulldogs begin a two-game road trek that prooves the program is hungry to claw back into the rankings. On Sept. 10 GMC JC will travel out to Ephraim, UT and face off with another top-ranked opponent, Snow College, in what could turn out to be a classic at 1 p.m. One week later, the Bulldogs will travel to Chatham, Va. and play Hargrove Military Academy, at 1 pm., in a matchup that is sure to be a close one. Arkansas Baptist will be looking for revenge in 2011 and will be traveling to Milledgeville Sept. 24 to face the Bulldogs in a 1 p.m. kickoff. GMC JC travels to Valdosta for a Sept. 29 showdown with the Valdosta State JV and a 7 p.m. kickoff. Mighty Grand Rapids Community College, another team with a lot of weapons, travels to Milledgeville Oct. 8 to face the Bulldogs at 1 p.m. GMC then hits the road once again for another test in Nassau Community College, another team that has put a lot of guys in the NFL over the years. The Bulldogs then hit a string of three home games as Green River Community College travels to Milledgeville Oct. 22 for a 2 p.m. matchup. North Carolina Tech then comes to town Oct. 27 for a 6 p.m. time. Chattahoochee Tech ends the home slate Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. A Nov. 12 date with ranked Lackawanna College at 1 p.m. secures the Bulldogs with one of the toughest schedules in the nation.
