LOCAL AUTHOR PUBLISHED IN INTERNATIONAL BOOK SENSATION, CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE CAT LOVER’S SOUL

September 27, 2005 – Susan Isaac, of Milledgeville, GA, wrote an original short story that has been published in the newly released Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover’s Soul, the most recent book in the #1 NY Times best selling Chicken Soup for the Soul® series. This book contains all new real stories about real cats–and the special people who love them.

Susan Isaac’s story, “The Call of the Lobster,” is about her 20-pound male Maine Coon cat (Basil Rathcoon Isaac) who has his own pet, a cat-toy red lobster. Susan explained, “He not only sings to this lobster in trills (Maine Coons don\’t really meow. Instead, they make a trilling sound.), but also puts it to bed at night and brings it with him throughout the day. This story is about the time his red lobster disappeared, and we couldn\’t find it. It\’s amusing and heart-warming.” Susan’s story was selected from thousands of other potential stories to be included in Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover’s Soul because of its ability to touch the hearts of cat lovers everywhere.

Susan has been a faculty member at Georgia Military College for eight years where she teaches English Composition and American Literature. She is the 2004 recipient of the Moore Family Fund for Teacher Enrichment Award. Susan and her husband, Walter, along with their four cats, Basil, Rochester, Agatha, and Pyewecket, live in Milledgeville.
