GMC Prep Varsity Softball team advances to state tournament

GMC’s Prep Varsity Softball team advances to state tournament

GMC’s Prep Varsity Softball team is advancing to the Elite 8 tournament to defend their back to back state championship titles. The team swept the Charlton County Indians in two games on Wednesday night in the second round of the GHSA softball tournament. The team is currently 24-3. Head Coach David Simmons is proud of his team and the community’s support.

“I would just like to thank the entire GMC community for their support this season,” said David Simmons, Head Softball Coach. “The girls are excited and focused on trying to bring a third straight state softball title back to Milledgeville.”

The team will head back to Columbus to compete in the Elite 8 double elimination tournament on Thursday, October 27- Saturday, October 29. This will be the fifth state tournament in a row for the team.
