On Saturday, December 17, GMC's Prep Raider teams placed 396 wreaths on the graves at the Georgia War Veterans Memorial Cemetery in honor of National Wreaths Across America Day. The teams held a fundraiser earlier in the school year to purchase the wreaths. A local remembrance ceremony was also held to honor the American heroes. Wreaths Across America (WAA) is a national nonprofit organization whose mission- Remembrance, Honor, and Teach – is carried out each year in part through the laying of wreaths on National Wreaths Across America day each December.
