GMC JC Men’s Golf is Ready to Claim Their Fourth National Championship

GMC JC Men’s Golf is Ready to Claim Their Fourth National Championship

The Georgia Military College Men’s Golf team has spent the last year preparing to reclaim their spot atop the NJCAA DIII Golf World. After a superb performance in 2023 that saw them claim 2nd place, they are looking to return to the top. Their quest will begin on June 4 at Chautauqua Golf Club in upstate New York.

This year’s team has a lot of talent. Brady Wentz and Ross Tetrault have led the team all year. Brady is the 2024 Mason Cup winner, and Ross won back-to-back tournaments in North Carolina this year. The most notable win was the Sandhills Invitational hosted by Sandhills Community College, the defending National Champions. Both players can shoot really low scores and have recorded rounds in the 60’s this year. Returning NJCAA All-American Stephen Bishop will be making his second National Championship start. He is the only player on this squad with National Championship experience, and his knowledge of Chautauqua Golf Club will be valuable.

Landon Lyon, Caden Camp, and Gehrig Massey will get their first look at Chautauqua Golf Club. Lyon has been the starting five for the Bulldogs all spring and has the game to shoot in the 60s. Camp is a solid ball striker, and if his putter gets hot, which it has at times this year, he can be a major contributor to the team’s success. Massey is coming off an injury but was impressive in qualifying and looks to be in peak form.

This program has a history of success; with fifteen NJCAA National Championship appearances, three championships, eight top-three finishes, two individual National Champions, and twenty-one All-Americans, the Bulldogs are home at Chautauqua Golf Club. A win this year will solidify the Bulldog’s place as one of the premier programs in NJCAA DIII Men’s Golf.

The NJCAA National Championship, a pinnacle event in the golfing world, will take place at Chautauqua Golf Club in New York, June 4-7. The Bulldogs are immensely grateful for the unwavering support of their fans and the Georgia Military College community. Your support is what drives them to excel. Good Luck, Bulldogs.
