GMC Honored at Championship Southeastern AIR Rifle Conference

Georgia Military College Rifle Team traveled to Anniston, Alabama for the Championship Southeastern AIR Rifle Conference Match and Awards Presentation Banquet hosted by Clemson University. Rifle teams represented were from The Citadel, Mercer University, North Carolina State, Wofford, North Georgia College and State University and GMC. The Citadel took the SEARC Championship title for the first time since 2001. They won the title by two points over North Carolina State closing the Wolfpack’s four year conference wins. GMC was represented by top shooter Larry Massey, Arielle Vann, Iesha Pettway and Daniel Elling with a combined score of 1926. Other rifle members Joseph Henao, Matthew Slover, Blake Best, Gregory Sigmon, have contributed to the teams efforts this year. Georgia Military College won a trophy for the Most Improved Team in SEARC. Arielle Vann was awarded Most Improved Shooter in the Southeastern Air Rifle Conference and Iesha Pettway took third. GMC will host SEARC #3 October 29, 2011.
