GMC Defeats DII Concordia College to move to 10-0 on the season

GMC traveled to Selma, Ala. on Saturday to take on a four-year Division II program for the first time inGMC’s history and came home with a 52-10 win against host Concordia College. The nation’s leading rusher Jovon Robinson provided another productive day for GMC rushing for over 200 yards and notchingthree moretouchdowns to his season totals. Quarterback Pat Thomas also excelled again behind the GMC offensive line going 7-9 for 183 yards and tossing two touchdowns. The Bulldog Defense again dominated the day holding the opponent to just over 150 yardsand one score. Defensively, the Bulldogs were led in tackles by Freshman Jaden Le with 8 TT, Blake Robins with 3 tackles and three sacks, and Chris Duffy with 2 INTs, one of which he returned for a score. Also on the trip, the GMC Bulldogs and staff took the opportunity to learn a little about the Civil Rights Movement, specifically Bloody Sunday in Selma and the events that led up to that day in March and the effect the march had on the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. The players and coaches took the opportunity to walk over the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, tracing the start of the march.
