Georgia Military College has been recognized for its impactful leadership in the state, as President Lieutenant General William B. Caldwell, IV, was named to Georgia Trend’s prestigious 2024 “Georgia 500: Georgia’s Most Influential Leaders” list. This recognition places Lieutenant General Caldwell among an elite group of leaders across the state making significant contributions in their respective fields.

Lt. Gen. Caldwell has served as GMC’s 21st President since 2013, overseeing its growth in enrollment, academic innovation, and leadership development programs. His distinguished career spans military service, higher education, and civic leadership. Since joining GMC, Lt. Gen. Caldwell has prioritized a student-centered approach, emphasizing character-based leadership and service. Under his leadership, GMC has expanded its campus locations, strengthened its academic offerings, and fostered a culture of service and excellence. He previously served as Commanding General of the 82nd Airborne Division, Commanding General of the NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan, and has held notable leadership roles within the U.S. military, including serving as the Commandant of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.

The “Georgia 500” list honors influential figures across various sectors in the state who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and made a meaningful impact on their communities.
