Georgia Military College Celebrates Milledgeville Native Shriyansh Parekh’s Appointment to the United States Air Force Academy
Georgia Military College (GMC) proudly announces that Shriyansh Parekh, a GMC Prep Alumnus (Class of 2024) and current United States Falcon Foundation Scholar in the Georgia Military College 146th Corps of Cadets, has been appointed to the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA). This prestigious appointment makes Parekh the first USAFA Scholar in GMC’s Class of 2025 to receive his acceptance, marking a significant milestone in his journey toward serving our nation.
“We are incredibly proud of Shriyansh Parekh and his remarkable achievement,” said Lieutenant General William B. Caldwell, IV, President of Georgia Military College. “His appointment to the United States Air Force Academy highlights his commitment, resilience, and leadership that has been displayed all throughout his GMC journey!”
Parekh’s achievement is particularly historic as he becomes the first GMC Prep School graduate to complete Georgia Military College’s U.S. Service Academy Scholar Program and earn an appointment to a U.S. Service Academy. Additionally, Parekh is the first Cadet to earn the rank of Lieutenant Colonel as a first-year Cadet, serving as the Executive Officer (XO) for the First Regiment, the second in charge for the Corps of Cadets. His accomplishment highlights both his dedication and the effectiveness of both GMC Prep School and the GMC Corps of Cadets in developing future leaders.
The Falcon Foundation Scholarship is a highly competitive program that provides outstanding young men and women an opportunity to attend an accredited preparatory school before entering the United States Air Force Academy. This scholarship is awarded to candidates who demonstrate exceptional potential for success at USAFA but would benefit from an additional year of academic and leadership preparation. As a Falcon Foundation Scholar at GMC, Parekh underwent rigorous training and academic coursework designed to strengthen his foundation for the demanding curriculum and leadership responsibilities he will encounter at the Academy.
Georgia Military College’s Service Academy Preparatory Program remains steadfast to its mission of developing authentic servant leaders for our nation. As a certified prep school for the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Military Academy – West Point, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and U.S. Naval Academy, GMC provides a structured, challenging environment that prepares scholars for the academic, physical, and character demands of service academy life.
