Eric S. Drake Receives Distinguished Graduating Student Award

Mr. Eric S. Drake, a sophomore at Georgia Military College in Augusta, was recently recognized as one of the community’s brightest and most celebrated students when he received the GMC Distinguished Graduating Student Award. This award recognizes a graduating student that is the best representative of the college and embodies all the qualities a graduate of Georgia Military College should possess.

Eric S. Drake has completed his studies to receive the Associate in Science degree in Pre-Nursing and has been accepted to attend the Medical College of Georgia in June 2008 to complete his studies in his chosen field.

Mr. Drake has created an enviable academic record at GMC-Augusta in that he has achieved a 4.0 after 101 attempted hours. He has done this while working full-time as an Emergency Medical Technician for Gold Cross Emergency Medical Service and volunteering with the Martinez, Georgia, Fire Department.

Mr. Drake is an excellent representative of the working scholar. He has availed himself of every conceivable learning opportunity. He has an unblemished record of attendance to open science lab sessions and has become known for efficiently using any available time in the electronic library in preparation for his classes.

The faculty at GMC-Augusta is proud to select Eric S. Drake as being an excellent representative of the full-time students who achieve academic excellence at Georgia Military Collge.
