Drill Team Earns 7 Medals

Congratulations to the GMC Prep School Drill Team which earned seven medals during the JROTC Area Four Regional Drill Meet in Evans, Ga. on March 10, 2007. According to SFC Van Dexter Rutledge, GMC Prep Drill Team Coach, “The team has always strived to deliver excellent performances. This year’s team, however, has been exceptionally superior.”

Freshmen, Will Parker and Rick Griffin, won 1st Place over 26 other Duel Teams in the Male Duel Exhibition category, followed by fellow freshmen, Quinton Weekly and Kip Goss, who earned the 4th Place medals. Dawn Hayward, a sophomore, won 2nd Place over 22 competitors in the Female Individual Exhibition. Rudy Mills and Hunter Hartley, both juniors, took 2nd and 4th respectively over 31 others in the Male Individual Exhibition category. All of these Regional Finalists will compete in the Georgia State Drill Competition at Fort Gordon on March 24th.
