Dillon Watkins – (CotW) Patriotism
Georgia Military College Prep School recognizes Dillon Watkins for earning the Character of the Week Award in demonstrating the virtue of Patriotism. “I would like to nominate Dillon Watkins for Character of the Week on behalf of the Georgia War Veterans’ Cemetery. During the Wreaths Across America ceremony Dillon performed Echo Taps during a cold and rainy ceremony on his own time. The event was held after school had dismissed for the Christmas holidays. Dillon could have easily enjoyed his time off without considering those who attended the event and the reason for it. I received a letter from the director of the Department of Veterans Service thanking Dillon for his participation along with a heartfelt “Thank You.” I am quite certain that all who attended appreciated what Dillon did. We, as a school, appreciate having a fine cadet such as Dillon who did the right thing for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice by serving and in some cases dying for our freedom.
