Dianne Wilcox Receives Vulcan Materials Company Teaching Excellence Award

Professor Dianne Wilcox, Georgia Military College-Warner Robins, was recognized as the 2012 recipient of the Vulcan Materials Company Teaching Excellence Award during the Grand Tattoo and Command Retreat on April 20, 2012. This award recognizes exceptional teaching, mentoring and service to the college student body, and to successful accomplishment of GMC’s mission in higher education. Dr. Mike Holmes, GMC Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty, says of Dianne, “She consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty in her mentoring of students and faculty and her contributions to the institution. Ms. Wilcox truly cares about the development of the whole student and routinely brings exciting and inspirational learning opportunities to them. She provides students with connections to the classroom material that speak to their experiences as well as open their eyes to the world around them. She provides lessons that touch on the development of both the intellect and character of the student and represent the best of instruction at Georgia Military College.” Dianne Wilcox teaches English and serves as Chair for the Humanities Department at the Warner Robins campus of Georgia Military College. She received her M.Ed. in Secondary Education English from Mercer University.
